Our City Clerk Candidate

Ardashes Kassakhian
For the last four years, Ardashes Kassakhian, or Ardy as he is known to many, has served Glendale as its duly elected City Clerk. As a graduate of UCLA with a B.A. in History, Kassakhian spent many years as a active participant and community organizer in Glendale, CA. Having worked both in Washington, DC and locally for both elected officials and candidates, he gained invaluable knowledge on how government works and how people can be more involved in the decision making process. Kassakhian believes strongly that in order for government to work for the people, it must be inclusive. This principle was what drove him to run for the position of City Clerk four years ago and has been the hallmark of his tenure in office. For the past four years, he has worked hard to make this principle a cornerstone of the way his office serves the public by:
  • Holding informational public forums on how to get involved in civic affairs
  • Talking to students about the functions and importance of city government
  • Working with community based organizations to educate and register new voters
  • Archiving city documents and making them readily available to the public
  • Video recording and archiving all city council and commission meetings online
Kassakhian feels that even with all of the mentioned accomplishments, there is still much work to be done. Kassakhian believes the challenge that faces every American citizen is keeping their government inclusive and responsive. As your City Clerk, he will help our city meet these challenges with innovation while fostering an environment that encourages civic participation and fair-play for all.
