Eric Sahakian
At Toll Middle School, Eric, as the Assistant Principal, spearheaded several key accomplishments including the School Community Violence Prevention Grant, the TRUST (Toll's Resolution for Unifying Students Together) Collaborative, and the SPIRIT (Student Problem Identifying and Resolving Issues Together) Council. School safety and community outreach have been a focal point in Eric's work in education.
While at Hoover High School as a school guidance counselor, Eric and the counseling staff were honored with the H.P. McDaniel award for the top counseling department in the nation. Aside from establishing unprecedented rapport and relationships with parents, he also established a strengthened sense of community service amongst students. Eric worked with and placed high school students as youth mentors at local community outreach sites within the city of Glendale.
In August of 2007, Eric expanded his experience in education with a new role. Eric's expertise and knowledge earned him a position overseeing the career-technical education programs of 4 districts and 9 high schools in Los Angeles County.
His varied experiences over the years have made Eric a fresh and unique choice for the school board. Prior to starting his career in education, Eric earned his Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Cal State University, Northridge and later a Master's degree in Psychology Counseling and Educational Administration credential from Cal State University, Los Angeles.

Christine Walters
Chris Walters is a Glendale native and a product of Glendale public schools. Following her education at RD White, Wilson and Glendale High School, she attended UCLA where she received her degree in Economics. She began her career as an auditor, then became a CPA. Most of her career has been in accounting and finance roles in the entertainment industry.
Chris has two children who are students in Glendale schools. Her boys attended Mark Keppel Elementary, Toll Middle School and both currently attend Hoover High School.
Chris has been an active parent in Glendale schools since her children began Kindergarten. She's been a classroom volunteer, Treasurer of school foundations and booster groups. She's held numerous positions on PTA executive boards, most recently served as President of the Hoover High School PTSA. For the past two years, she's been part of the Instructional Leadership Team at Hoover, where she works with teachers and administrators on strategic initiatives as part of the GUSD Focus on Results program. Chris feels school safety is of paramount importance to our students, which is why she's involved in two violence prevention collaboratives at Toll Middle School and Hoover High school.
Chris' community work has included leading Glendale Seeds of Peace, chairing the Board of We Care for Youth, and community organizing work with One LA/IAF.
Chris is a huge advocate of public education and is passionate about working to continue the excellence and high standards of the Glendale schools that benefited her as a student. She loves the school environment (she probably should have been a teacher) and loves working with both teachers and students.
Chris is married to Wayne Walters, a United Methodist pastor. She has two children, Eric (17) and Josh (14), two step-children, Brenna (28) and Christopher (21) and a dog named Fable (5).
