Our City Clerk's Issues

Leadership and Accountability
As citizens we are all involved with and directly affected by local issues and current-events. That is why transparency of the actions of our local elected officials is of utmost importance. Citizens should have easy access to all decisions made by the elected officials and the information shared by city staff. This will ensure that the choices made by our elected officials are in the best interest of the entire community.

Get Out the Vote Efforts
In order to ensure everyone's participation in elections, the City Clerk's office must implement programs and get out the vote efforts that educate citizens about the voting process and any issues included on the ballot. We must all do our part in eliminating all barriers preventing citizens from voting. Only when we energize our community to make their voices heard through the electoral process will we be able to ensure we have the best city government.

Hiring of Poll Workers
Upholding the integrity of our elections is a priority that cannot be underestimated. Hiring poll workers dedicated to ensuring that the voting process is not compromised will help maintain the confidence that the citizens of our city have in the electoral process. Proper training of multi-lingual staff is key to achieving these objectives.

Voter Registration
Voter registration must be continuously encouraged in order to ensure that we have a large number of citizens ready to participate in the democratic process. The registration process must be streamlined to enable our elderly, inexperienced, and linguistically-challenged citizens to participate in the electoral process without difficulties.
